The foods that grow in a particular climate and location are most useful to people who live in that place at the time when the foods grow. If one relies on local foods in season instead of canned or preserved foods they will reap a greater nutritional reward.

Avoid Sugar

High sugar foods do not provide any nutritional benefits besides calories. Also, sugar takes nutrients like chromium and B-complex vitamins to metabolize it. Eating a high sugar diet not only robs the body of nutrition, but actually depletes the existing store of important nutrients. Therefore, sugar is not only unhealthy but detrimental to good health.
