1. See the Massachusetts State House. It was first erected in 1798, although has been added to since then. From outside it has a very characteristic dome. Inside you can take regular tours of the historic building with a guide.

2. Go to the USS Constitution. This warship, nicknamed “Old Ironsides” but built with Florida Oak, is still commissioned in the US navy. It was one of the first indicators of the emerging nation’s seapower and amazed the British. There is a museum which teaches about life of seafarers nearby. Tours are taken by a commissioned naval officer who will delight in answering questions about its history.
